Agreement to Rear Mason Bees
at My Home
I agree to raise mason bees at my home, using mason bees, a nesting house, and paper tubes which are supplied to me by Hunters Mason Bees (HMB).
The bees are provided to me so that I may use their pollination capabilities in my yard and also to gain enjoyment from watching their natural activities.
I realize that the nesting house, paper tubes, and cocoons provided to me and any new larvae created by the mason bees are owned by Hunter’s Mason Bees. I will not keep, sell, or give away any of the above to another individual without written agreement by HMB.
I will install the nesting house under an overhang on the south side of my house to receive morning sun. (See www.huntersmasonbees.com for instructions.)
I will monitor the house’s activities to ensure that that no predator (squirrels, raccoons, birds, mice, etc.) disrupts their activities. If any adverse activity occurs, I will promptly call or email HMB for suggestions and remedies.v
I will return the tote bag with all paper tubes to HMB when requested of me by email or telephone. I understand that HMB will attempt to coordinate a group pick up at a common site with other partners for my ease. I will do all I can to ensure that the paper tubes in the tote bag are back to HMB in early June. If I can’t make this time, I will contact HMB who will provide me with other partners near me and will get the tote bag to them.
I will attempt to be gentle with how I handle the paper tubes as I understand sharp jarring may dislodge the mason bee eggs from the nectar causing the larvae to starve.
I realize that mason bees, like any bee, can sting. I understand that although a sting may be a rare occurrence, I will hold Hunters Mason Bees harmless from any actions or medical reactions caused by this event.
-
I understand that if the mason bees have sufficient activity at my house, that I will be invited to participate in future years.
Hunters Mason Bees’ obligations to you:
HMB will provide a nesting house, directions online about how to place the nesting house, and an adequate number of paper tubes to meet the needs of the supplied foraging mason bees.
HMB will also communicate frequently by email to help you understand more of what should be occurring with the mason bees.
HMB will promptly respond to email or phone calls with questions about mason bees.
HMB will provide to the partner new paper tubes and mason bees annually your yard has adequate pollen.
This agreement may be cancelled by either party at any time, and the nesting house, tote bag, and paper tubes returned to Hunter’s Mason Bees, with no further obligation by either party.
